Originally announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live last year, Atlas Fallen is a really cool looking action RPG for PS5. Crafted by Deck13, the developer behind The Surge, the project has shown a lot of promise up until now, and we've been excited to see more.
The good news is that we won't have to wait much longer for Atlas Fallen to arrive. The game's just been given a 16th May release date, and we've got a bunch of new screenshots to peruse.
The official press release says that a "spectacular" gameplay trailer is "coming soon", so we'll be sure to cover that when it drops.

I'm actually looking forward to this game
Look not bad, i couldn't get into the surge games as found they quite difficult. The art style looks interesting though
The Surge 2 was fantastic, huge improvement over the first game (esp. on PS5 w/60fps). Iām very excited to see what Deck13 has cooked up!
This is one to watch š
I see why it is a "promising" game, but "very promising" is a little bit questionable Good luck to devs and the project, though!
I forgot about this game. It does look fantastic in those screenshots.
Massive The Surge fan here, so keeping a close eye on this one for sure!
Have they even shown full gameplay yet? Two months from release.
All I remember is being pissed off that they used a CGI trailer in this day and age. Yes it looked amazing, but that's not representative of the game. (There's about 9 seconds of short cuts of gameplay at the end) We just don't need this anymore.
In fact when I see a CGI trailer I think they must be hiding something like most mobile games or The Day Before
EDIT: Brave releasing just 4 days after Zelda: TotK?
Although I would have preferred another Surge, I'm willing to give this a chance too!
@themightyant I believe the only actual gameplay shown is a dozen of seconds at the end of CGI trailer.
@Tomato_Goose Yeah. I had actually edited my comment to include that. But again, that isn't necessarily representative, may be faked or from a vertical slice. My point is we are just over two months from launch and I have no idea what this game actually is. They need to show proper unedited gameplay, otherwise it's looks like they are just hiding things at this point.
@themightyant sure, I totally agree with your statement. Nowadays preordering games is rather dangerous - you never know what you'll get even after watching a couple of videos / streams. Except for some best studios or titles, perhaps. But opening preorders for a project with no actual gameplay shown seems odd and even suspicious. I actually had fun with both Surge titles, but Atlas Fallen seems something different from previous works, so...
Very interested to see a game play trailer. The screen shots look promising ....
Liked Surge. Loved Surge 2. This fell off my radar, but I'm glad to hear it's coming soon. Love the art direction.
So is this a sequel to Lords of the Fallen?
This is a game that caught my atention in that show.
I love both Surge games, so this one is on my wish list now.
Atlus Fallen looks okay. I won't be buying day one though, will wait for a dirt cheap sale in a few years.
This was actually one of the games most excited for. Although I am being cautiously optimistic about it.
The devs made some decent games. I generally don't enjoy souls like games but I did enjoy Lords of the Fallen. Well, what I played of it since I suck at soulslike games and gave up halfway through.
I tried out the Surge as well, but I didn't enjoy it as much as Lords of the Fallen.
I know the reveal was mostly CG with a "possibility" of actual gameplay at the end, but I hope this delivers. It's what I miss about the early years of a new console generation. Cool looking new IP's. So far the PS5/XBSX generation has been underwhelming. It's just sequels with the occasional new IP.
I know new IP's have released, but it just doesn't feel as exciting as say the PS3/360 era. Perhaps I'm just jaded and older now. š¤·āāļø
@themightyant
I agree. At this point I'm tired of CGI trailers despite how good they look. At the same time, I understand it in some ways.
If gameplay is shown and it even slightly differs on release from what was previously shown then so many entitled gamers cry about it and I don't blame developers for not wanting to deal with that.
At the very least I want to see in engine footage even if it is just cut scenes.
